Whiz Kid's accomplishment: David, a sophomore, is a star point guard for the reigning 2A state-champion Warriors basketball team, averaging a team-high 25 points a game. He balances his athletic skills with academics, maintaining a 3.8 grade-point average.

In his spare time, he has participated in Clover Park’s student government as sophomore class vice president, and plays AAU basketball for the Northwest Panthers.

After high school, David plans to play Division I basketball, preferably at the University of Kentucky. He was born in the Bluegrass State. So far, his greatest interest lies in studying communication.

Whiz Kid's key to awesomeness: David said that the key to his success is working hard, “because it pays off” – and not only on the basketball court. His goal is to keep his grade-point average above a 3.8 and continue to succeed academically and athletically.

He said that his favorite part of playing basketball isn’t the actual game, but instead, “making my family proud by how well I do.”

David started playing basketball at a young age, joining his dad in the gym.

Returning as a veteran on the 2A championship team “feels good,” he said.

“There’s not really pressure, but the goal is to win state again!”
