Today in Lakewood-JBLM: Denny Heck Talks Past, Present & Future of Afghanistan

The Olympia Congressman will host a town hall-style public event on Afghanistan at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.

Today at 10 a.m., Congressman Denny Heck will host a town hall-style public event entitled "Afghanistan and the United States: The Past, Present and Future" at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.

Interested members of the public are invited to hear from the Congressman and a panel of experts about the situation in Afghanistan, as well as ask questions and offer comments on the issue.

This is the first of Congressman Heck's "Discuss It With Denny Heck"
events, a series bipartisan conversations on some of the big issues
facing America. Other events in the series can be found

WHO: Congressman Denny Heck, who visited U.S. troops in Afghanistan in May University of Washington Associate Professor of Law Clark Lombardi,
who has an expertise in Islamic law and has travelled to Afghanistan
LTC Thomas M. Feltey, commander, 2-23 Infantry, 4-2 ID (SBCT), who
recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan Members of the Public

WHAT: Congressman Denny Heck and a panel of experts will discuss the situation in Afghanistan. Members of the public are invited to ask questions of the panel or offer comments on the issue.
