Families Welcome Home 240 Soldiers With 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division

The soldiers - who completed an eight-month deployment in Afghanistan - arrived to a gym-full of happy family and friends.

Up until five days ago, Apenisa Naigulevu's family remained the way he left it before deploying to Afghanistan for eight months.

But that was all before Debra, his newborn daughter, came kicking and screaming into the world.

That's why when he and some 240 soldiers assigned to 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division returned home Wednesday to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, he embraced Debra and Lasrie, her 5-year-old sister, with an ear-to-ear grin.

Flanked by wife Lliana and mother Fulori, he offered a smile that seemed like it would never go away: "It's good to be home."

Watch the video of the sights and sounds from Wednesday's ceremony above.
