Featured Announcement: Meet Pierce College Puyallup President Candidates

Use the announcement function to post personal, work or sports achievements; graduation or birth announcements; death notices; and more.

Pierce College District invites the public to meet the finalists for Pierce College Puyallup President on campus this week.

The forums and finalists will be at 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Brouillet Library and Science Building, Room 244.

  • Monday, April 15 – Paula Boyum, Ph.D., vice president of economic and workforce development at Bellevue College in Bellevue.
  • Tuesday, April 16 – Marty Cavalluzzi, Ph.D., executive vice president for instruction and chief academic officer at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood.
  • Thursday, April 18 – Andrea Olson, J.D., special assistant to the president at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Redmond. 
  • Friday, April 19 – Bob Mohrbacher, vice president of instruction and student services at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake.

The candidate selected as president will oversee operation of the Puyallup campus, replacing Interim President Colette Burnette. The previous president, Patrick Schmitt, left last year to become chancellor at West Valley-Mission Community College District in Saratoga, Calif.

Pierce College District 11 Chancellor and CEO Michele L. Johnson will appoint the president based on careful consideration and input from the screening committee; interviews; forums, and feedback.

Here's a step-by-step:

  1. First, create a user profile by clicking "Join" at the top right of the homepage. If you already have an account, go ahead and log into the site by clicking "Sign In," also located at the top right of the homepage. 
  2. Hover your mouse over the "Events" tab on the top of the page, then click on "Announcements."
  3. On the right side of the Announcements page, click "Add an Announcement."
  4. Give your event a title.
  5. Select a category.
  6. Fill out the description.
  7. Click "Post My Announcement."
  8. We also recommend that you add photos, videos or a flier, click "Upload Photos, Videos & JPGs" from the menu above your posted event and follow the prompts.
  9. Share your announcement on Facebook and tell all your friends how easy it was!
