Lakewood Bus Riders See Changes to Pierce Transit Routes

Pierce Transit introduced its bus service changes on Sunday, June 9.

Due to transit operator attrition, Pierce Transit has cut numerous services,  including those in Lakewood, in order to keep the buses moving throughout the system.

"Pierce Transit continues its commitment to finding everyday efficiencies and seeking new revenues in order to preserve as much service for our customers as possible with the resources available," according to the Pierce Transit website.

Route 2 
Three trips are removed: Weekdays the 5:15 a.m. and the 8:45 p.m. trips from Lakewood TC and the 8:48 p.m. trip from 10th & Commerce. Other trips on Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays are modified and shortened.

Route 3 
On Saturdays: the 6:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m.m trips from Lakewood TC, and the 6:55 a.m. and 7:52 p.m. trips from 10th & Commerce the are deleted. On Sundays, the 7:10 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC is deleted. Many other trips on Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays are modified.

Route 48 
Weekdays, the 5:52 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. trips from 10th & Commerce are eliminated. The 5:50 a.m. from Lakewood TC now begins service at 96th & S. Tacoma Way.

Route 51 
Weekdays, the 5:52 a.m. trip from Lakewood Sounder Station now begins at Lakewood TC; the 6:48 p.m. trip from N 26th & Proctor ends at Lakewood TC. Sundays, the 8:49a.m. trip from Lakewood TC is deleted.

Route 202 
Weekdays, the 6:45 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC, the 8 p.m trip from 72nd St TC, and the Saturday 10:15 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC are eliminated.

Route 204 
Weekdays, the 7:15 p.m. from Lakewood TC, the 7:45 p.m. from Parkland TC and the Saturday 6:15 p.m. trips from Lakewood TC are eliminated.

Route 206 
On Weekdays, the 5:45 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. trips from Lakewood TC, and the 8:13 p.m. from Berkeley & Union are deleted. The 8:15 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC now begins at 8:30 a.m.  The Saturday 5:20pm trip from Lakewood TC and the 6 p.m. trip from Madigan Hospital are deleted. On Sundays, the 8:50 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC and the 5:20 p.m. trip from Berkeley & Union are deleted.

Route 212 
Weekdays: the 6:15 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC, the 7:10 a.m.  and 6:10 p.m. trips from Pierce College are deleted. Other trips have modified times. Saturdays: the 8:15 a.m. from Pierce College, the 8:50 a.m. from Lakewood TC, and the Sunday 8:45 a.m. trip from Lakewood TC are deleted.

Route 214 
Weekdays: the 7:44 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. trips from Pierce College are eliminated. the Saturday 8:20 p.m. trip from Pierce College and the Sunday 8:45 a.m. from Lakewood TC are eliminated.

Route 300 
Weekdays, the 5:45 a.m. from Tacoma Mall TC, and the 6:12 a.m. and 7:11 a.m. trips from McChord & Bridgeport are eliminated. Other Weekday trips are changed. The Saturday 7:20 a.m. trip from McChord & Bridgeport, and Sunday 9:20 a.m. trip from McChord & Bridgeport are deleted. Other trips are modified
