POLL: Is The Pollen Getting to You?

Here in the Puget Sound area, as well as in other parts of the country, allergy season appears to have hit earlier than normal this year, and it seems to be packing a powerful, stuffy punch.

Anyone with allergies can attest to it - the past week or so has been flat out miserable.

Pollen season appears to have hit early this year. Cars and windows are covered with the yellow stuff. Some people have stuffy noses, watery eyes and sore throats, along with a box of tissues nearby.

The Weather Channel reports that tree pollen levels in Lakeood have been mostly moderate to high this past month. Today, the official level was moderate.

Pollen levels in LakewoodΒ are expected to dip slightly the next few days before increasing again Thursday.

The most active types of tree pollen in the area are coming from alder, cottonwood and poplar trees.

According to the Huffington Post, other parts of the country are experiencing high pollen levels for this time of year, particularly in the South.

So if you see anyone, including myself, trying to un-stuff our noses, wipe our eyes or clearing our throats, cut us some slack.
