Ivan the Gorilla, who sat perched at the for some three decades before being moved to Atlanta, died today.
He was 50 years old.
For anyone who has lived in the South Sound for a long time, the mere mention of "Ivan" generates plenty of memories. Some are better than others.
I remember locking eyes with Ivan in B&I and waving to him. He never waved back. Still, I loved that mammal and was pretty bummed when he left the region, even though it was for the best.
