Steilacoom Plans Power Outage on Aug. 19

The town is planning a community wide power outage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to replace aging equipment and run 3 miles worth of underground power lines.

Steilacoom is Washington's oldest town, and it will be living up to that moniker Aug. 19.

The town is planning a community wide power outage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's expected to affect downtown, as well as other parts of Steilacoom.

Crews will be replacing aging pieces of equipment and will be running 3 miles of new, underground power lines.
