THIS WEEKEND: Play Bingo, Meet Fairies, Drink Wine and More

Looking for something fun to do this weekend while the sun is out and your taxes are (hopefully) finished? 

 

  • Where/When: 6 p.m. Friday, April 13, at .
  • Why go: Come join Lakes' PTSA for an affordable, all-ages evening of bingo fun and prizes. There will also be a silent auction with baskets full of great deals you won't get anywhere else. Bring your family and friends and be ready to have a great time!
  • Cost: $5 per person. All proceeds benefit the Lakes Graduation Party for the Class of 2012.

  • Where/When: Noon-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, at Creative Forces in Fircrest.
  • Why go: Join Creative Forces this weekend for their spring sale and open house. This is your chance to meet and mingle with the artists behind the stunning pieces at Creative Forces.
  • Cost: Free. A portion of sales will go to Relay for Life team "It Is What It Is" in honor of David Osborne.


  • Where/When: 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the .
  • Why go: The festivities start with a fairy transformation, followed by tea, snacks, crafts and a very special visitor! All ages welcome with parent supervision.
  • Cost: $10 per child.

  • Where/When: 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the in University Place.
  • Why go: Rob Windham of Elliott Bay Distributing will visit the Wine Bank to take attendees on a wine tour of France. He has put together five wines from five regions that will showcase each. This is a great opportunity to taste and learn about wines from the country that is still No. 1 in the world of wine.
  • Cost: Free.

  • Where/When: 7 a.m. Saturday, April 14, in downtown Tacoma.
  • Why go: Looking to test the level of your fitness this weekend? You may want to check out this 5K run/walk put on by the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap counties. It's all for a good cause and you'll even get a T-shirt out of the deal!
  • Cost: Registration is $30, or $35 the day of the race. The Kids 1K and Diaper Dash are free. All 5K registrants will receive a technical running shirt. All proceeds go to the YMCA's Teen Late Nite Program and Scholarship Fund.
