Walter Reed Chief Of Staff To Assume Command at Madigan

Col. Ramona Fiorey will assume command from Col. Dallas Homas during a ceremony at Watkins Field on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

The largest Army health care provider in the Pacific Northwest - Madigan Army Medical Center -  will formally welcome a new commander during a change of command ceremony Friday.

Col. Dallas Homas will relinquish command to Col. Ramona Fiorey during a ceremony at Watkins Field on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Fiorey joins Madigan from her current position as the chief of staff, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland.  As the commander of Madigan Army Medical Center, she will be charged with leading an organization responsible for providing world-class military medicine to more than 120,000 beneficiaries through a network of health care facilities located in Washington and California.

Homas and his family will report to Joint Base San Antonio, TX, where he will assume the duties of the Medical Corps Specific Branch Proponency Officer and deputy chief of the Medical Corps. He is slated to take command of the 65th Medical Brigade at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, South Korea, in the summer of 2014.

Homas has led Madigan since March 2011.

In a final town hall to Madigan staff, Homas imparted that it's been his honor to provide medical care to the service men and women who continue to support our nation.  He also wished continued success for the Army's prestigious medical center and those who support it.
