Whiz Kid's name: Jeane Onggao

Whiz Kid's accomplishment: Jeanne is a straight-A student who is on the Principal’s List for having a 4.0 grade-point average. She is known for having an outstanding work ethic and the ability to complete tasks in minimal time and then move on to other projects with little or no direction from her teachers. Onggao, who is referred to as a “true leader,” also plays on the Lions’ varsity soccer team.  

Whiz Kid's key to awesomeness: Onggao has a joy for life and learning, said John Hinkle, a language arts and U.S. history teacher for whom Onggao has been a teaching assistant. Her peers respond to her quiet leadership and she often volunteers to assist struggling students in her classes. Her enthusiasm for learning energizes others and gets her classmates interested in what is being taught. “Her future is bright and no doubt she will be successful in all of her future endeavors,” Hinkle said. “It has been a great privilege to have her as one of my students.”
