Concerts at the Gardens

The Second City Chamber Series, Tacoma’s award winning producer of classical chamber concerts, is pleased to present its second 2011 “Concerts at the Gardens” on Thursday, July 28, 2011, 7:30 p.m. at Lakewold Gardens-- 12317 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW in Lakewood, Washington.

 

The Second City Chamber Series’ 2011-2012 Season, “Hallowed Halls” explores the music of place by taking the audience to some of the most famous and infamous locales on earth. On July 28, violinists Janis Upshall and Blayne Barnes, violist Mary Manning and cellist Diane Tremaine-Kogle present a program entitled “Esterháza” featuring works composed for the famous Hungarian palace by Franz Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ernst Eichner.

Lakewold Gardens will open at 6:30 to guests of the Second City Chamber Music.  Bring a picnic to enjoy garden strolls, an evening of fine food outdoors, and music to match. There will also be a garden themed silent auction at the event, also beginning at 6:30, with proceeds to benefit the Second City Chamber Series.
