Opera Expert to Inform, Entertain At Library Workshops

Opera enthusiasts can learn about the topic from an expert during free events at three Pierce County Libraries this month.

Veteran opera lecturer Norm Hollingshead will inform and entertain with a preview of the Seattle Opera production of Giacomo Puccini's "Turandot."

Set in China's Imperial City, Puccini's masterpiece, "Turandot," recounts the legend of a bloodthirsty princess whose icy, vengeful heart softens as she comes to know true love. The opera holds audiences spellbound with its lyrical and sweeping score, memorable melodies, stunning pageantry and passionate confrontations.
