St. Mary's church And School Auction Fares Well

Round Up brings in about $50,000 for school additions, scholarships

St. Mary's Episcopal Church and School held its annual auction Saturday night to benefit the primary school's operations and build its scholarship fund.

This year's theme of "Round Up" included barbeque snacks, cowboy photos and a rootin' tootin' good time.

While dollars continue to be counted, the ballpark of $50,000 means the goal was met this year, particularly the $10,000 scholarship fund goal. Top auction items were a $6,000 car that went for half price, vacations and plane trips.

Principal Glen Lutz donated his arm to the cause by allowing the Episcopal crest to be tattooed on his arm if people bid more than $1,000. That was raised in a matter of seconds.
