Lakewood Police Searching For Suspect Who Punched Man Unconscious at Bar

Lakewood Police are searching for a man who punched another man at a bar late Wednesday and left him with life-threatening injuries.

The attack occurred at the Last Call bar in the 7300 block of Lakewood Drive. Police say the 47-year-old victim was playing pool and bumped into the suspect, who was also playing pool nearby. The suspect then punched the victim, which forced him to fall and strike his head on the ground. The victim immediately went unconscious and, as of Thursday night, is suffering life-threatening injuries at the hospital. He is listed in critical condition.

The suspect fled the scene with an unidentified woman and several men before police arrived. He is described as a Native American male in his thirties, 5'10", 220 pounds, heavy build, with long black hair worn in two braids. The suspect was wearing a long sleeved white t-shirt and khaki pants at the time of the assault.

The assault was captured on the bar's surveillance system. Lakewood Police are reviewing the video but aren't releasing any images at this time.

The Lakewood Police Department is asking anyone with information on this crime or who was present at the assault to contact LPD Detectives.  Tips can be called in anonymously to Crimestoppers at 253-591-5959 or submitted through the Lakewood Police website or the LPD Tip Line at 253-830-5064.
