DeLong's Deluxe Opens Next Month In Lakewood

The walk-up hamburger stand will offer traditional items such as burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, fries, ice cream and handspun milkshakes. Future plans call for a proposed drive-up espresso stand in an adjacent building.

For months, Lakewood-JBLM Patch users have been wondering when Delong's Deluxe - the building under construction at the corner of Bridgeport Way and Steilacoom Boulevard Southwest - is going to open.

Today, we got a clearer idea of when customers will be able to walk up and order a burger or a shake: Next month.

We also got a copy of the restuarant's menu, which offers an ol' fashion array of burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, handspun shakes, floats and sundaes.

"Burger options include good old fashioned hamburgers, fair burgers piled high with grilled onions, chili burgers, veggie burgers to bleu cheese bacon burgers," according to the hamburger stand.

DeLong's Deluxe is owned by Marie and Tim DeLong, in partnership with Sara and Pat Steel. They intend to create a casual, contemporary park-like dining experience to customers.

Shade sails that will be installed later in spring will allow outdoor seating year round in the Pacific Northwest weather.

“We are new to Lakewood and look forward to building relationships with the community," Tim DeLong said. "Marie and I heard it is a great place to do business, and our experience has proved it. We’ll be hiring seven or eight new employees for when the store opens.”

Built by Korsmo Construction, Lakewood is DeLong’s DeLuxe first site. Plans for growth include a proposed drive-up espresso stand in a separate, adjacent building.

DeLong’s DeLuxe will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, and is located at 8901 Bridgeport Way Southwest. More information is available on DeLong’s DeLuxe’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
