Also appearing, a descendent of the Grandma Mac Fuchsia will provide an informative and educational beginning to this colorful walk through history. The following presentations are scheduled for 1 p.m. on each day:

  • Friday: Kevin Jones from Jordan’s Nursery will discuss how he started in the business
  • Saturday: Salli Dahl, Author, will discuss the history of fuchsia fanaticism in Washington
  • Sunday: Will Gibbs, Past President of the NW Fuchsia Society will discuss winterization of fuchsias

As Lakewold heads into the fall, this final burst of color display is a great opportunity to enjoy the gardens and learn about the history of fuchsias. Stephanie Walsh, executive director, said "we are pleased to be partnering with clubs from around the Puget Sound area. In developing this event, I’ve learned so much about these beautiful plants, often taking me back to the days of my grandmother’s enormous fuchsia baskets soaking up the morning sun in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. I know our visitors will enjoy the exhibit!”
