  • Where/When: 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at .
  • Why Go: Grab your little ones and come enjoy storytime with Daffodil Princesses this Saturday at the library. The princesses will read stories, talk with the children, and be available for photos afterwards. Each princess will have a special gift for all of the kids.
  • Cost: Free.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 23-25, at the.
  • Why Go: If you haven’t caught Lakewood Playhouse’s production of The Farnsworth Invention, this weekend will be your last chance. The play follows two inventors as they race to invent a device called a “television.” Check out this promo for the play to see what it’s all about. (Parental Advisory: This production contains adult language.)  
  • Cost: $23 for general, $20 for senior/military, $17 under 25 years of age and $15 under 15 years of age.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, at the.
  • Why Go: It's time for another used book sale at the Lakewood Library. Walk out with a bagful of books, CDs, magazines and the occasional signed first edition.
  • Pricing: Funds from the book sales will help the FRIENDS of the Lakewood Library sponsor future events as well as furnishings and other needs at the Lakewood Library.

 

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at Cheney Stadium.
  • Why Go: This 5K run/walk will be a skirt-chaser run, where all women will start the race two minutes before men. The first men to catch one of the two ladies wearing targets on their backs will receive very special prizes. All finishers will receive a finisher medal. After the 5K we will have a 1K for kids 11 and under following with awards and raffle prizes.
  • Cost: Registration for the 5K is $30 (day of the race). The 1K registration is $5.

 

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Puyallup Fairgrounds.
  • Why Go: If you’re into bagpipes, this event is probably already on your radar. Join the Clan Gordon Pipe Band for their 49th annual Tartan Ball. The event will feature pipes, drums and dancers from Leanore Curran School of Dance.
  • Cost: Free.
