US Department of Labor, Veterans Affairs Hosting Job Fair for Veterans

The U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are hosting a free job fair for veterans in Lakewood this Friday.

The job fair will give our local veterans an opportunity to connect with hiring officials, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The event will take place at VA Puget Sound Health- American Lake Division, 9600 Veterans Dr., on Friday, April 12.

“We are moving in the right direction on reducing unemployment among America's veterans, much more needs to be done to ensure that no veteran struggles to find work after serving honorably to keep us safe and secure,” said acting Secretary of Labor Seth D. Harris.  

Prior to the job fair, a seminar for federal contractors will take place to provide practical information, helpful tips and clarification regarding federal Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action obligations for disabled and other veterans.

Both events are free, space is limited and early registration is encouraged. Veterans should bring a current resume and their military ID or DD-124.

• 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Veterans Job Fair

REGISTER: Veterans and employers may register for the job fair by contacting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment at 206-341-8228. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. Early registration is recommended.
