You’ll Find This Blog for a Yule Log: Odd

The Nativity in a fireplace but not on an Air Force Base.

CBN News is reporting this morning about an Indiana couple who were stocking up on firewood and in one of the logs “found what they say appears to be images of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus in the wood.”

“The images in the wood will be on display at a police department in Danville, Ind.”

A nativity on display at the police department?

Someone alert the MRFF

MRFF is the acronym for the acrimonious Military Religious Freedom Foundation which called in an airstrike-like attack – headlines ironically also this same 16th Day of Christmas - on the Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina where a Nativity scene had been seen on the grounds.

On the grounds that the figurines were not erected close enough to the base chapel, within two-hours of having identified the offending peace-on-earth plastic invaders the Scud-missile-like devastation was complete, the landscape returned to its pastoral setting, no cratered- nor smoking evidence that an obliterated enemy had been surgically removed.

The chapel was not hit.

The scorched-earth strategy by which anything and everything, even remotely related, by which to celebrate this season of good tidings and great joy – the colors red and green, for example, even reindeer, and carolers (carols must be pre-approved) – drew a likewise scathing rebuttal from Todd Starnes, host of Fox News and Commentary:

“So the Newborn King is a violation of Air Force regulations? Who knew?”

Heaven knows, there wasn’t room when the baby was first born either.
