4-2 Raiders To Kick Off "Walk to Afghanistan" Project Today At Fantasy Lights Walk

The sneak preview is today at Spanaway Park in Spanaway.

The 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division ‘Raiders’ will officially kick off their Walk to Afghanistan project at the Pierce County Fantasy Lights Walk sneak preview Sunday, Nov. 18 at Spanaway Park in Spanaway, Wash.

The Walk to Afghanistan program is a tradition among Army units and is designed for family members near and far. The intent of the program is to build camaraderie among the families and friends who support the unit and show visible support for Soldiers downrange.

4-2 SBCT recently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Normally a driving tour, the Fantasy Lights Walk takes a participant on foot through 2.5 miles of animated displays at Spanaway Park on one night only. Detailed information about the Walk is available on the web at the Pierce County Parks & Recreation website:
