Lakewood City Hall Chambers Converted to Warming Center This Weekend

If you're still without power and need a place to escape the cold and find a place to charge your electronics, the city of Lakewood is offering shelter for area residents along with the Lakewood Community Center.

Because of local power outages, the city of Lakewood will provide a warming center for area residents in the City Hall Council Chambers this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Some Lakewood residents are still experiencing power outages and Puget Sound Energy said some of its customers may be without power over the weekend. Individuals can escape the cold and find a place to charge up their phones and computers.

The warming center visitors are asked to bring their own refreshments and entertainment. No pets are allowed except service animals. The city is unable to provide transportation to the warming center.
