From Patches Neaby: Sign Up For Chambers Bay 5K Challenge

Attention runners and walkers: Pierce County is challenging you.

Its annual Chambers Bay 5K Challenge is scheduled for July 21, which means participants should stretch those hammies and head out to .

Here's more information from Pierce Parks & Recreation's Facebook page:

This 5K Course will take you along the Soundview Trail which boasts some of the most amazing views in the Pacific Northwest! You will run alongside the Chambers Bay Golf Course and up the infamous "switchbacks" which are guaranteed to challenge the best of the best! Once you conquer the hills the course will continue onto the Grandview Trail. Don't want to challenge the switchbacks just yet? Sign up for our one mile dash which takes you and back on the Grandview Trail.

Check in and day of race registration starts at 7 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.

Pre-register by July 6 and the 5K fee is $15 per person. Day-of-event registration for the 5K is $20 per person.

Pre-register by July 6 and the 1 mile fee is $5 per person. Day of event registration for the 1 mile is $10 per person.

Technical T-Shirts are $18 and must be ordered by July 6.
