 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

  • Where/When: Opens everywhere on Friday, July 15.
  • Why Go: For all the Harry Potter fans out there, you've probably been counting down the days for this premiere. So get out to your local theater this weekend watch this highly anticipated sequel to the final installment of the Harry Potter series. The AMC Lowes Theatre in Lakewood will be playing the film on three screens and you'll get your choice of watching it in 3D or 2D. Buy your tickets in advance though, these showings may sell out, especially the 3D showings.
  • Cost: Tickets range between $7.50 and $12.50.

  • Where/When: 7-9 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at the . 
  • Why Go: Come out to the Lakeridge Forza this Friday evening and relax with a cup of coffee while you enjoy a unique brand of variety entertainment from Jackie Dee. Whether it's disco, R&B, Motown, classic rock, or just some good ol' foot stomping country Jackie Dee makes it her own. And does so with a sense of style and sincerity. Enjoy the show!
  • Pricing: No cover.

 

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday in downtown Gig Harbor.
  • Why Go: Join Peninsula Art League this weekend for the Annual Summer Art Festival. With over 130 artists participating in this year's festival, you're sure to find something to interest you. There will be art exhibitions, craft booths, live music, food vendors, family geared activities, and much more.
  • Cost: Admission is free. Parking at the festival may be hard to find, carpooling is encouraged. There's also a free shuttle service running both days between the festival site and the Medical Center parking lot on Kimball Drive (near Hwy. 16).

 

  • Where/When: 8-11 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at Impact Sports Academy in University Place.
  • Why Go: Join the Impact Sports Academy for a evening of Music and Comedy this Saturday night. Grove to the musical performances by D1 Experience and Mycle Wastman. Then laugh the night away with stand up comedians Cortney Gee and Scruncho.
  • Cost: Proceeds from this event will benefit five talented youth basketball players attending a national training camp, as well as other youth programs at Impact Sports Academy.

 

2011 Fifa Women's World Cup

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. Sunday, July 17 at
  • Why Go: The U.S. is on a roll as they travel to Frankfurt to take on Japan in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Finals. The Lakewood Pub & Gill will be showing the game and has several TV's scattered throughout the bar. So even if you don't get the best seat in the house, you're sure to have a decent view.
  • Cost: No cover.
