POLL: Sun Expected to Replace June's Gloom Starting Sunday ... No, Really

Today and Saturday are a wet mess, but Sunday will kick off several days of a sunny respite for our rain-soaked region.

Does anyone else feel like putting on a sweater, brewing up a pot of apple cider and carving some pumpkins?

Summer ... right.

After a lovely summer solstice on Wednesday and a sunny Thursday, we're back to the doom and gloom of this Junetember.

But it is expected to get better after tomorrow. In fact, it may even crack 70 by midweek. Here is the National Weather Service's forecast for Lakewood for the next week.

This afternoon: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 65. South southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday: Showers likely, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Light northwest wind.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Tuesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 69.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.
