JBLM Stryker Soldier Dies In Afghanistan

Pfc. Markie T. Sims, 20, of Citra, FL, died Friday in Panjwal, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Pfc. Markie T. Sims, 20, of Citra, FL, died Friday in Panjwal, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 38th Engineer Company, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, under control of the 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

I'm still wondering when all of US troops will be pulled from that country. We continue to see our soldiers die for absolutely no reason. We don't belong there. Let those countries fend for themselves. We need to put our own country back in proper working order. We have our own problems here. We should not be sending billions of dollars to these countries. We would be able to help our own countrymen and women with this money.

310 Soldiers died in Afghanistan in 2012. 499 people died by guns in Chicago in 2012. Chicago has the highest gun regulations. Let the military do their job in Afghanistan.
