Lakes Football: Lancers Tame Lions, 63-7

Lakes extends its undefeated record with a dominant road victory against Auburn Mountainview in a South Puget Sound League 3A matchup.

Five Lakes players scored rushing touchdowns and senior quarterback David Wood completed nine passes for 162 yards including a pair of TDs in a 63-7 South Puget Sound League 3A blowout win against Auburn Mountainview Thursday night.

The undefeated and arguably most talented team in the state has an opportunity to break the SPSL 3A scoring record next week when they host Bonney Lake in the final regular-season game at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28. Tacoma News Tribune reporter Doug Pacey tweeted they needed to score 16 more points to break a record they set in 2009.

Similar to previous games, the Lancers (7-0 overall, 4-0 league) moved the ball offensively and held the Lions (5-2 overall, 2-1 league) to minimal yardage defensively. Lakes collected 592 yards on offense compared to Auburn Mountainview's 249.
