Public Asked to Help Name Point Defiance Zoo's Red Wolf Pups
Quintet the first of the endangered species to be born on Tacoma zoo's grounds in 29 years.
The public is being asked to weigh in on the names of the five endangered red wolf pups born in May at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
Two sets of names have been selected; both are related to the wolves' native habitat in North Carolina.
The first set of names is from counties in North Carolina: Bladen, Haywood, Hyde, Nash and Onslow. The second set is from trees native to the state: Fraser, Hickory, Hawthorn, Juniper and Sumac.
