  • Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday, Aug 26 at Stonegate Restaurant and Bar.
  • Why Go: Looking for some live music to start off your weekend? Stonegate has a hard hitting lineup planned for Friday. Melodramus, Far From the Genuine and local favorites From the Sea are all worth the price of admission by themselves. Not sure if this show is for you? Check out this video of From the Sea in action so you'll know what you're in for.
  • Cost: $5 cover.

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 27 at Marymount Event Center.
  • Why Go: The LeMayCar Show is a car enthusiasts dream. It's also been an annual tradition for more than 30 years. The show is an amazing assortment of over a thousand vintage vehicles with additional collections of dolls, antiques, and other nostalgic memorabilia. Donations and proceeds from the event will benefit the LeMay Family Collection Foundation, a non-profit organization.
  • Cost: General admission: $10; Children (aged 6-17): $5; Members: free; Active military: free.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Thea's Park & Foss Waterway Seaport.
  • Why Go:  Help celebrate the working waterfront of Tacoma this weekend at the 19th annual Tacoma Maritime Fest. Watch the tall ship, paddleboard and sailing boat races, take a free train ride or harbor tour and try out the quick and dirty boat-building workshop. Other activities and attractions include live music, food vendors, toy boat building and racing for the kids and even a catch and release fishing tank. Don't forget to bring your sun block, it's fixing to be a hot one!
  • Cost: Admission is free.

Seahawks Pre-Season Football

  • Where/When: 6 p.m. Sat, Aug. 27 at .
  • Why Go: It's not a regular season game, but it'll be the best look at the Seahawks' new squad you've seen thus far. Most of the starting players are expected to play a full three quarters, if not more. Get there early to take advantage of the Fan Club's open to 6 p.m. happy hour. Stick around after the game for some free live music from the Moody Blues tribute band, Threshold. Go Hawks.
  • Pricing: No cover.

UFC RIO

  • Where/When: 6 p.m. Saturday Aug. 28 at various locations, use the UFC Bar Finder to view a list of bars or restaurants showing the fights.
  • Why Go: The World Middleweight Championship is on the line this Saturday as Anderson "Spider" Silva aims to avenge his last loss (disqualification in 06') against Yushin Okami. Also on the card this Saturday is the highly anticipated rematch of Forrest Griffin and Shogun Rua. Need a little more back story to get into these fights? This pomo should do the trick.
