500 Pounds of Copper Wire Stolen from Lakewood Scrap Metal Business Over the Weekend

Lakewood Police are searching for suspect(s). Lt. Chris Lawler said they are not aware of a spike in metal thefts.

One or more thieves stole 500 pounds of copper wire valued at $1,500 at WOTC Scrap Metal, 8129 Durango St. S.W between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, according to Lakewood Police Lt. Chris Lawler.

Lawler added in a Tacoma News Tribune article that the culprit(s) cut through the fence at Trugreen Lawn Care & Landscaping to get to WOTC Scrap Metal, Lawler said.

The same suspect(s) are believed to have broken into Scrap Metal and taken a quarter ton of scrap copper wire. Lawler told Patch that they are not aware of seeing a spike in metal thefts.
