Bank Robber Arrested with Stolen Money Still in Pocket

After threatening to shoot the tellers at a local credit union bank, 28-year-old man is apologetic, stating he's not a very good thief and that he's sorry for scaring the tellers.

Tacoma News Tribune reporter Stacey Mulick found a rather interesting piece of crime blodder today. In her story, she reported that a Lakewood man suspected of robbing a credit union branch Monday had the stolen money in his pants when he was arrested later in the day.

Pierce County prosecutors charged 28-year-old Charles Miller Jr. with one count of first-degree robbery. But from what he admitted in court, it won't be hard to prove he's guilty.

Charging documents state the defendant was sorry for scaring the tellers and he was not a very good thief. He also admitted to being a heroin addict and robbing the credit union.

His demeanor was much more violent during the bank robbery. Miller threatened the tellers, saying he was going to shoot them during the heist.

Authorities knew it was him after looking at surveillance photos from the bank at 7717 Bridgeport Way W., in Lakewood. It didn't take long for the investigators to locate him.
