Blaze Destroys Lakewood Home

West Pierce Fire & Rescue crews responded to a fully engulfed fire at 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning. There were no reported injuries.

A Lakewood home was destroyed in a fire early Thursday morning, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Jenny Sharp.

Neighbors smelled smoke next door and firefighter crews responded to the 911 call at approximately 2:15 a.m. By the time they arrived, the house, located at 10310 109th Ave. SW, was fully engulfed.

Firefighters were on scene attacking the fire in a defensive mode. They did not enter the building due to its conditions. There were no injuries and nobody was inside the structure during the incident.

It took crews approximately 45 minutes to extinguish the fire.
