Four people involved in a collision near a freeway off-ramp on Gravelly Lake Drive Southwest in Lakewood were transported to area hospitals Wednesday night.

The Washington State Patrol reports that the crash occurred shortly before midnight at the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp.

According to an accident report, a 2007 Mercedes driven by Teresa Barnett, 47, exited the highway. Another vehicle - a 2000 Ford driven by Daniel Roberts, 60, of Lakewood - was stopped at the traffic light coming off the highway.

The Mercedes failed to slow down and hit the stopped vehicle, according to the report.

Barnett was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center, while Roberts was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

Crews transported two other passengers - a 68-year-old Tacoma man and a 2-year-old girl - to area hospitals. The 2-year-old wasn't injured and was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

WSP is still investigating the crash.
