UPDATE: Collision on I-5 Involving School Bus Cleared, Child Not Injured

Clover Park School District spokeswoman Kim Prentice said the bus belonged to First Student, not the district. The bus driver caused the accident and has been cited.

WSP spokesman Guy Gill just sent out the following Tweet:

"Update: Collision cleared, child on the bus not injured."

A few minutes later, he Tweeted the following:

"School bus driver caused the collision and was cited. Other drivers not injured"

A three-car collision on southbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood involved a school bus.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. near the Gravelly Lake Drive exit, according to a Tweet sent out by Washington Trooper Guy Gill.

He later Tweeted that the collision involved a school bus and that one child was being evaluated.

Clover Park spokeswoman Kim Prentice told Patch that the bus did belonged to First Student, not to the school district.

The Department of Transportation reports that one lane of traffic is blocked heading south.
