Drive-By Shooting Reported In Lakewood Over The Weekend; Eight Arrested

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., early Sunday at a house in the 8400 block of 99th Street Court Southwest. Eight people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.

We heard reports of a drive-by over the weekend in Lakewood. I checked with Lakewood Police spokesman Chris Lawler, who sent me this:

On 01-06-13, around 1:29AM, a drive by shooting was reported at a house in the 8400 block of 99th StreetCourt Southwest. A house was struck by gunfire, along with a parked unoccupied vehicle. Nobody in the house was struck by the bullets and no one reported any injuries. The suspect vehicle seen shooting at the house was described by a witness as possibly a Ford Taurus. A patrol officer spotted the vehicle in the Tillicum area and tried to stop it.  By the time he caught up to the vehicle, the occupants had fled into an apartment complex.

Through some good police work and follow up investigation, a total of eight suspects were arrested for their involvement in the drive by shooting. A total of five weapons, some stolen, were recovered. The investigation is still ongoing. SWAT was also called to the scene to assist with serving a warrant on one of the suspect’s apartment.
