JBLM's 446th Airlift Wing Names West Pierce Fire & Rescue Employer Of The Year

The fire department for University Place and Lakewood was chosen, in part, for its support of reservists "who give so much to protect and serve our great nation," it says.

On Saturday, March 2, the 446th Airlift Wing Annual Awards Banquet was held at the McChord Consolidated Clubs at McChord Field.

More than 300 guests attended, and the finale of the night was the announcement of the wing's annual award winners, including Employer of the Year - West Pierce Fire & Rescue. Deputy Chief Mitch Sagers accepted the award and was escorted by Technical Sergeant Lance Nelson, a Reservist who works as a firefighter for West Pierce.

“This is such an honor to be considered, let alone be a recipient,” said Chief Sagers.
