Lakewood Man, Child Sent To Harborview Medical Center Following I-5 Rollover Late Sunday

The Washington State Patrol reports that Joshua Hale, the 26-year-old driver, as well as a 6-year-old passenger, were taken to the hospital. Authorities suspect alcohol may have been involved in the rollover crash near Federal Way.

A Lakewood man and a 6-year-old boy were transported to Harborview Medical Center following a rollover crash late Sunday on Interstate 5 that authorities suspect may have involved alcohol.

The Washington State Patrol identified the driver as Joshua Hale, 26. Another passenger, Latoya Rush of Lakewood, 28, was transferred to nearby St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way.

According to WSP, the group was headed north on Interstate 5 approaching 272nd Street shortly before midnight when their 1999 Chrysler 300 struck the outside jersey barrier and rolled onto its top.

Neither Hale nor Rush were wearing seatbelts, WSP says, but the boy was restrained. Charges are pending.
