Lakewood Police Arrest Woman Who Allegedly Burglarized John Dower Elementary

Units responded to the school shortly before 5 a.m., today, where they spotted a woman dressed in dark clothing running from the school.

Lakewood police arrested a 27-year-old woman whom they suspect vandalized today.

According to spokesman Lt. Chris Lawler, patrol units arrived at the school in the 7800 block of John Dower Road shortly before 5 a.m and spotted a woman dressed in dark running from the school.

A unit on the school's perimeter detained the woman, "and a good burglary was discovered at the school," Lawler said.

In fact, authorities discovered that a window had been broken, and a K9 unit arrived and tracked the scent of whomever burglarized the school back to the woman, authorities say.

The suspect was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary. She also had a misdemeanor warrant.
