Lakewood Police Chief on Skeeter Manos Sentencing: Time To Move Forward

On the day one of his former officers received more prison time for crimes he committed as treasurer of the police guild, Lakewood Chief Bret Farrar says it's time for his department to move forward.

Speaking on the "Dori Monson" show, Farrar said, "It’s time to put this behind us."

"In my mind, in my heart, I believe he has been held accountable for all of his actions," he said of Skeeter Manos.

Manos pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree identity theft and forgery and received nine additional months in state prison.

He's already serving a 33-month federal sentence after he pleaded guilty to wire fraud last year. Manos admitted to stealing $47,000 from the Lakewood Police Guild and $112,000 from a fund established to benefit the families of the four Lakewood Police officers - Sgt. Mark Renninger and Officers Tina Griswold, Greg Richards and Ronald Owens - who were gunned down by Maurice Clemmons at a coffee shop in 2009.

The state charges stem from Manos forging and trying to steal the identity of the guild's accountant.
