Lakewood Police Officer Sees Shotgun, Crashes Into Ditch

X-ray shows no broken bones after accident.

Washington State Patrol Spokesperson Guy Gill said the Lakewood police officer who crashed into a ditch near Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Tuesday night suffered minor injuries.

The officer swerved after seeing the suspect he was chasing pull a shotgun before midnight. KIRO-TV reported the officer was briefly knocked unconscious and was taken to Tacoma General Hospital, and Lakewood Police Spokesperson Lt. Chris Lawler told KING-TV an X-ray showed no broken bones.

"We're all just really glad he is going to be ok," Gill said.
