Lakewood Police will not investigate burglary. They come and take a report and in few day you hear from that saying they do not have the resources to investigate. That is what happened to us last year. We had a burglary and they came because we called. Then we got the letter.

Thomas, let's add identity theft to the list of crimes Lakewood PD chooses not to investigate. At least, not for unimportant people like me. Several years ago, my bank account was compromised. Kudos to Columbia Bank, who immediately removed the unauthorized charges, and kudos also to Qwest, who helped me identify the perpetrator. NO KUDOS to Lakewood PD -- I did their job by tracking down the perpetrator's address, and basically handed this whole case to them on a plate -- it's documented. I received a form letter stating that it wasn't worth their time. So, basically, the city of Lakewood's choice is to allow an identify thief to go free, even when they've been provided with solid information to prosecute. Again, as I pointed out, if the victim is an unimportant person.
