7-Eleven Video: Lakewood Police Search for Serial Armed Robbery Suspect

Authorities say the man has hit businesses in three different jurisdictions. Police are looking for tips and information.

Multiple police agencies, including the Lakewood Police Department, are searching for an armed serial robbery suspect believed to have held up multiple businesses at gunpoint, according to Lakewood Police Lt. Chris Lawler.

The first robbery occurred at 10:29 p.m. in Lakewood on Dec. 27 at the , 7019 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W., police said. The clerk reported that a mixed-race male (white and black) pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at him demanding money. The suspect is further described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, gloves and a bandana to conceal his identity. The suspect got away on foot.

The second robbery in Lakewood occurred at the Papa John's Pizza in the Tillicum neighborhood on Dec. 30 at 8:30 p.m, police said. The clerk gave a similar suspect description: a black male, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, 170 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a bandana over his face, according to police. He had a black semi-automatic handgun with a red-dot laser sight. The suspect ran away.

The third robbery in Lakewood occurred at the at 7727 Custer Road later that night at 11:17 p.m. Again, the suspect demanded the money from the register with a gun, police said. The suspect description matched that of the Papa John's robbery.

Tacoma Police also had a robbery on Dec. 28, shortly after midnight at the Shell gas station at 8433 S. Hosmer St. The suspect description was similar to the Lakewood robberies. He fled on foot.

The Lacey Fuel Station was held up on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The suspect's description and robbery method were consistent with the other crimes.

Detectives from all three agencies are working together and are looking for any information anyone may have on these robberies.  Tips can be called in to the Lakewood Police Department, the Tacoma Police Department, and the Lacey Police Department. Tips can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers at 253-591-5959, and tipsters are eligible for a cash reward.
