Lakewood Police Seek Public's Help Finding Sexual Predator

Authorities say a black male with a noticeable tattoo on his right forearm abducted and attempted to rape a woman in the Woodbrook neighborhood this past Sunday.

The Lakewood Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who abducted and attempted to rape a woman in the Woodbrook neighborhood of Lakewood this past Sunday.

The suspect, described as black, 25 to 35 years of age, jumped into the victim's vehicle and forced her at gunpoint to a more secluded area, according to Lakewood Police Lt. Dave Guttu.

During the sexual assault, the suspect punched the victim repeatedly in the face causing significant injury, Guttu said. In the process, the suspect inadvertently honked the horn in the victim’s vehicle, alerting a neighbor and causing the suspect to flee.

Authorities say the man may have facial hair or a goatee. He wore a dark hooded sweater shorts at the time of the abduction and assault.

The victim described a tattoo that she saw on the suspect’s right forearm. She described it as a six-pointed star.  Anyone that sees or knows who this suspect is asked to call 911 or the Lakewood Police Department at 253-830-5000.
