Prosecutor Wants Death Penalty For Three Soldiers Accused Of Killings To Hide Anti-Government Plot

A trio of and his girlfriend to hide an anti-government plot could face the death penalty if convicted.

The Associated Press is reporting via Huffington Post that Georgia District Attorney Tom Durden said Thursday in Long County Superior Court that he will seek the death penalty for Army Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon.

The three are accused of killing Michael Roark, a 19-year-old Kirkland man, and his girlfriend, Tiffany York, 17, in December to keep the group’s plans for a government overthrow a secret.

Roark was born in Kirkland, according to his obituary on The Herald of Everett. He spent part of high school in Marysville, and his funeral service in December was held in Shoreline, The Herald reported.

According to prosecutors, the men are part of a group of current and former military members called F.E.A.R., short for Forever Enduring Always Ready. Their plans for a government overthrow included blowing up a dam in Washington and poisoning the state’s apple crop.

Thursday's court hearing included its own drama, as York's stepfather, Wesley Thomas, tried to rush the defense table. Court officers wrestled Thomas to the floor and handcuffed him.
