Suspect Escapes Police By Leaping From Second-Story Window in Lakewood

Lakewood Police and Department of Corrections began search for suspect in Oakbrook neighborhood. K9 unit tracked person all the way through Chambers Creek in University Place. No arrests have been made.

A suspect with a felony warrant fled from Department of Corrections and Lakewood Police authorities in the Oakbrook neighborhood about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lakewood Police Lt. Chris Lawler.

The suspect jumped out of a second-story window and fled from a residence in the 7400 block of Ruby Drive Southwest, Lawler said. The suspected person has a felony robbery warrant and is listed as a violent offender, police said.

The K9 unit tracked the suspect all the way down through Chambers Creek in University Place. Police have not made any arrests. Officers with Lakewood, Dupont, Steilacoom and University Place helped with the search.
