Suspect in Lakewood Drug Shooting in Stable Condition

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent was released from the hospital and is expected to fully recover after being hit by the suspect's car.

Authorities have released more information regarding the incident involving a suspect and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Wednesday night in Lakewood.

The shooting officer in this case is a special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). According to ICE, the agent has worked with HSI for 6 years, and he has more than ten years of law enforcement experience.

The HSI special agent was released from the hospital late Wednesday and is expected to recover fully from his injuries.

The suspect in this case is a Hispanic male who has not been positively identified at this time. He is reported to be in stable condition and is under guard at a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. It is being led by the Lakewood Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and is being assisted by the Cooperative Cities Crime Response Unit Investigative Team.
