Lakewood drivers on Interstate 5 might have caught a glimpse of extreme luck this morning.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., a 37-year-old Puyallup man escaped with mere scrapes and scratches after a trailer hitch smashed through his windshield near the Tacoma Dome.

The hitch, according to the Washington State Patrol, was lying on the roadway and got kicked up by a vehicle traveling in front of the truck.

Count your lucky stars, indeed, young man.

We have been keeping track of these types of accidents from utility trailers, horse trailers and hitches. http://dangeroustrailersvirtualmemorialus.blogspot.com/2008/02/sean-oshea.html Sean Oshea was destroyed by a loose hitch. EVERY HITCH IN AMERICA HAS NEVER BEEN TESTED BY ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY FOR A UNIFIED STANDARD.! www.dangeroustrailers.org
