The week of 10-16 February is the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans. This idea is great and getting the schools involved is a good way to let our young citizens know about our hospitalized veterans. Many of them are WWII, Korea and Vietnam-era veterans. Other organizations also provide some type of activity that week. Tacoma Elks Lodge 174 is sponsoring an ice-cream social Valentine's Day afternoon for the residents of the Community Living Center. It will be nice to see so many Valentine cards for the residents.
