ELECTION: Muri Gets Endorsement From Combat Veterans

The Lakewood candidate who's running for the 10th Congressional District will be honored next month.

Dick Muri, 10th Congressional District candidate and retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, will be officially honored with the endorsement of Combat Veterans for Congress next month in Tampa, Florida. Combat Veterans for Congress is one of the country’s largest non-profit organizations devoted to assisting combat veterans in their campaigns for public office.

Pierce County Councilman Dick Muri shares this honor with only thirty other combat veterans from across the country, including Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA).

Upon receiving news of the endorsement, Dick Muri said “I am honored to receive this endorsement as recognition of my service in operations Urgent Fury (Grenada) and Desert Storm. I am also proud of my record of principled conservative leadership throughout my years of public service.”

On May 26th, Dick and his wife, Mary Muri, will be attending the Combat Veterans for CongressGala Event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tampa Bay. Over 5,000 guests have been invited nationally and all endorsed and elected Combat Veterans will have access to national TV, radio and print press. Six TV stations, nineteen radio stations, thirty-six National Veterans Organizations and twenty-seven national news organizations have been invited to cover the event.

Combat Veterans for Congress has confirmed that Congressman Connie Mack, currently running for the U.S. Senate in Florida, will be the event’s keynote speaker. Congressman Mack will be introduced by Congressman Barry M. Goldwater Jr. (Ret), Co-Founder of Combat Veterans for Congress. Medal of Honor recipients, Vietnam POW’s and a theatre Commanding General will also speak.
