Multi-agency “Active Shooter” Training conducted at Clover Park Technical College:
On Friday May 17th, Lakewood Police Department, along with West Pierce Fire and Rescue, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, South Sound 911, Clover Park Technical College Staff and Administration, and the Pierce County Department of Emergency Management participated in an “Active Shooter” training on the Clover Park Technical College Campus.  This multi-level, multi-agency training was devised in response to the recent shootings which have been front and center in the media in recent months.  The training was very well received, well-planned, and well-executed, and provided a fabulous opportunity to prepare each agency individually-and as part of a team- should this situation ever arise.  Feedback received from citizens/staff members was all very positive and grateful for the chance to participate and each agency went home with valuable knowledge regarding what worked and what needed to be adjusted for next time.
